Professionally, I am first and foremost an educator at heart. My passion is teaching, and I love teaching physics. My impetus to teach physics is sparked by my desire for students to intimately engage with physics in ways that sparks their curiosity, ingenuity, and self-efficacy. My time as a pre-service teacher motivated me to dive more deeply into the theoretical and empirical underpinnings of physics education, leading me to graduate studies in physics education research.

Personally, I am a husband of a wonderful wife and father to an adorable daughter. Some of my favorite activities include playing with my daughter, cooking new cuisines with my wife (we love Indian, Italian, and Japanese sushi), playing basketball, playing with our adorable dogs Charlie and Aspen, and gaming. My wife and I spend time each week volunteering with our church. While not always possible, I try to maintain a functional work/home life balance; if you see my office light on after 6pm or on weekends, you'll know I'm less than successful with this at that moment!
